What is Reiki and how can it help me?
Happy New Year, everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season and welcome to 2017!
I did something cool over the holiday, the week before Christmas, I finished training and I am now a Reiki Master. This was about a year’s worth of training and practicing.
So if you have heard of Reiki but don’t know that much about it or if you are new to the experience, allow me to lend some explanation. I recently found an article on the Reiki Rays website that will help me with this:
Reiki is an energy healing method that is usually done by placing the hands in a series of positions over or slightly above the body. Reiki promotes healing by activating the relaxation response and helping the body to balance itself from a very deep level.
Reiki allows positive energy to flow into the body through the hands of the practitioner and this balances and heals the energy in the body. Reiki has been scientifically shown to decrease pain levels, speed healing and relax the mind and body. Reiki can only do good and can never cause harm.
OK, so what does this mean to you? Well, it means that I can help you with managing some of the problems and ailments in your life. Or just help balance your chakras. I can tell you that it is one of the most relaxing experiences I have ever known.
The best part is you don’t really have to do anything. You can just either sit in a chair or lay on a massage table and let the energies work for and with you. That is if I’m treating you in person.
Here’s the even better part….I don’t have to treat you in person for Reiki to work. I can be hundreds of miles away and still perform a Reiki treatment on anyone. We, as practitioner and client, just need to set up a designated time to do it.
But wait, there’s more! Anyone and anything can receive Reiki. Even animals and plants. Animals are very receptive to Reiki because they have no inhibitions about it. I have even read about ways to use Reiki in spaces, kind of like a fung shui method.
I encourage everyone to try this and see what it might do for you. Whether you are dealing with an ailment or just need some “me time” Reiki has something to offer you.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions, or would like a session. In fact, I will give a free 30 minute session to the first 5 people who leave me a comment on this post.
Love and light.
Relax with Yoga Nidra guided meditation
One of the most prominent problems most people have, no matter who they are or what they do, is the time and/or ability to just relax.
I hear this a lot; “I just need to take a minute to relax and breathe.” So, of course, I say, why don’t you try meditation. Inevitably this is the response; “Oh, I can’t do that. I just can’t turn my brain off. I’m always thinking about stuff.”
Well, if this is you, try Yoga Nidra. This is a guided meditation that absolutely anyone can do. There are no poses involved, just find a comfortable place to lay down. YES, you can do this while laying in bed!
The following explanation comes directly from the Amrit Institute website: Yoga Nidra literally means “yogic sleep”. In the meditative experience of yoga nidra, we transcend self-created perceptions and limitations. Sleep takes us below the mind, and meditation carries us beyond the mind.
If you suffer from insomnia, I invite you to try this method before you try going to bed and see if it helps. If you have any kind of ailment, this can help manage your symptoms, from the common cold to fibro myalgia to just a bad day.
I invite everyone to try the 15 minute recording included in this post and see how it works for you. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
PS. I am certified by the Amrit Institute in this method.
